It had been too long since they had seen each other. After the strife of war, Desiree did not seek out willingly as a means of giving space to them both; room to process, room to heal. She did not wish it to be this way, but it was what was needed in the cruel world they lived in.[break][break]

Just as what the woods would be at three in the morning, a place away from every aspect of the world and feel nothing but the wind against their cheeks. The rustling of the trees as bustle turned to quiet- where they could listen to each other with nothing to listen other than the bugs hiding behind leaves.[break][break]

And it just so happened to be the one site of the Hoennian Ghost Tales she had missed in her previous late-night perusal of her ever-accursed social media feeds.[break][break]

Sparking a cigarette as she awaited on the back of her illuminant Metagross, she heard a twinge of a twig on the path she had left of pink petals leading in from the main route.[break][break]

”Ina, is that you?” she called out, watching pink light pour from her iron leg pokemon’s eyes below. Oblivious to the Nihilego watching her every move in the darkness meters and meters behind her.

How selfish was she, to lean into the call of her dear angel? One that she cared for so deeply and loved so dearly, and yet she was actively keeping her in harms way by seeking her out? Yuina was forever fighting a battle within herself, stuck between her adoration of the heart she connected with first, and wanting to disappear into the very darkness of the night she walked through so that she couldn't hurt her...[break][break]
And yet in spite of herself, Yuina made no hesitation in answering Desiree's call. It didn't matter if it was three in the afternoon or three in the morning. At her angel's behest, she would follow. It wasn't as though she slept much now a days anyway.[break][break]
Walking quietly through the dark, beside the cloven figure that she chose to ride off into the dark, Yuina first heard the click of a lighter before she saw a soft pink glow in the near distance, then the voice that beckoned her forward, the voice she both pined for but wanted to protect...[break][break]
"It's me Desi, I'm here," she spoke softly, stepping into the soft pink glow of the Illumina machine that she sat upon, a perfect visage in glowing pink, truly she was an angel.

Dropping her cigarette into the ashtray she had fastened onto the back of the Metagross with tape and a dream, she rose to a stand as quick as she heard her voice. And much like an angel, she jumped down from the light to indulge in a loving embrace of jovial delight.[break][break]

”You came! Ina,” she giggled in excitement, running to wrap her arms around her if she were to accept, ”.. it feels like it's been forever since!”[break][break]

Their last, tropical sunlight, was replaced by the dreariness of haunted woods- but dampened scenery couldn’t overshadow the feelings that came with seeing her dearest friend in the flesh since then. A war, which they both had a part in, could not have as well.[break][break]

”The war, the Megalopolans, all of that aside! We’re alive,” she smiled with a blush, spinning around as she felt so free from it all, ”.. and a little eyebags never hurt anyone. What have you been up to?”[break][break]

A momentary pink glimmer shone from her bag, only for a small time. The presence inside enjoyed what it empathetically felt, even while retained in its orb- a glimmer was its way of showing its approval.

All at once, as Desiree touched her feet to the grass and came running towards her, Yuina's shadows fell away. For better or for worse, always, she chose in that moment to forget herself and just be there in the arms of her dearest heart. The embrace was so meaningful, Desiree's everything flooded Yuina's senses. Her warmth, her voice, the sweet scent of her cigarette smoke, everything was so familiar and so overwhelming in the best ways. She hadn't realized just how much she missed her...[break][break]
The moment couldn't have lasted long enough as Yuina physically relaxed, relinquished herself into Desiree's arms as she too wrapped her arms around Desiree in return. Tension melted away into the pink of their flower petal world, and Yuina could breathe.[break][break]
"Of course I did angel. You called and I answered, I always will," for as long as she could... For as long as she had time left to walk on this path, in this life, she would answer Desiree.[break]
Desiree twirled in delight, spinning away from all that had kept them apart from each other for this time, casting it into the darkness that was kept at bay by soft pink light. Yuina couldn't help the soft smile, adoration and love at how powerful Desiree truly was through it all, to always hold so much love in her very being.[break][break]
"Studying mostly for a while now, since the war. My specific 'area of expertise' has... come up a lot more recently," Yuina returned, her past in that far away place had become much more of a prominent take since the golden glowing Pokémon, the plates, and the artifact brought to the museum had all come to the surface.[break][break]
"What have you been doing?"
